Spanish Paradores, an institution who, for years, has carried out an immense labour of wine and Spanish gastronomy promotion thought their 97 establishments distributed around all of Spain, has now included Finca Montepedrosos 2019 in their promotion ‘La Selección del Sumiller’ (‘Sommelier’s selection’).
Each season, a team made up of sommeliers from Spanish Paradores carefully tastes and selects new references to recommend in all of the restaurants belonging to their network.
In this occasion, the chosen wine for their menus during the months of July, August and September of this year has been the white wine Finca Montepedroso 2019.
Finca Montepedroso 2019 is a wine elaborated using 100% verdejo strain grapes. It has a greenish-yellow colour with lemony highlights. Its scents present it with complexity, proving to be explosive to the nose with apricot, peach and fennel notes.
We are dealing with a velvety and silky white wine, with great volume and structure. Its acidity is well balanced and grants the wine with freshness and nerve. Its taste is long and palatable, with a fruity aftertaste.
Finca Montepedroso is situated in Rueda, the capital of the Designation of Origin which carries the same name. The cellar was inaugurated in 2008 and follows Familia Martínez Bujanda’s philosophy when it comes to opting for individual vineyards located at privileged enclaves, as well as for putting great importance and care into their meticulous and careful elaboration of wines. At Finca Montepedroso, which comprises of 25 hectares of vineyards located at 750 metres above sea level, there are only two white wines being elaborated from the grape strain verdejo.
