A Holy Week among vineyards and terroir wines

Can you imagine yourself visiting unique places that you had never imagined existed?

If the answer is yes and you still do not have plans for this Easter, from Familia Martínez Bujanda we propose you an unforgettable trip to enjoy history, culture, gastronomy and, above all, good wine.

The first stop of this incredible route is La Rioja. In a privileged enclave, between the wine-producing towns of Cenicero and Fuenmayor, stands Finca Valpiedra, the maximum exponent of the family’s entrepreneurial spirit and a member of Grandes Pagos de España.

Opened in 1999, Finca Valpiedra is distinguished by the production of “terroir” wines. Wines that combine the winemaking tradition and the natural environment in which the vineyard is located. Unique wines that transmit all the character of this Estate of 80 hectares of vineyards divided into three natural terraces that rest on one of the meanders of the Ebro River.

Finca Valpiedra’s wine tourism proposals are special. The first, called Cantos, is the perfect combination of nature, culture, leisure and gastronomy. In addition to opening the mouth with a welcome wine, it also includes a visit to the vineyard, winery and a spectacular tasting with Cantos de Valpiedra Crianza and Finca Valpiedra Reserva, both wines paired with Rioja sausages.

If you would like to learn more about the characteristics of our vineyard, do not miss the Finca visit, which includes a walk or drive through the vineyard. A natural and attractive walk in a very special setting..

And, do you know what is the disgorgement of a bottle of wine? If the answer is no, you are just in time to make your reservation and enjoy another of Finca Valpiedra’s wine tourism proposals. A vertical tasting of the winery’s most emblematic wine, Finca Valpiedra Reserva, with the uncorking of 2 historical vintages to be chosen by the customer. Perceive the evolution of a wine through its years and enjoy them with the selection of tapas that accompany it.

Sounds appealing, doesn’t it? Well wait, there’s much more

The windmills and farmlands of the Don Quixote Route are the preamble to what you will find at Finca Antigua, the second of the wine tourism getaways that we propose in the heart of La Mancha.

This winery, whose hallmark is an ancient key, was a “love at first sight” for Familia Martínez Bujanda, who found in this region unique vineyards at an altitude of more than 900 meters above sea level. This condition allows the family to work with national and international grape varieties to elaborate plot wines such as Clavis.

This signature wine can be tasted by booking the Premium tour. In the same Pico Garbanzo plot, Clavis is paired with a rosemary cheese, followed by a visit to the winery, a tasting pairing with 3 wines and typical local products. After the visit and on your own, enjoy a walk through the rest of the vineyard.

Another option to get to know Finca Antigua is the El Palomar visit, which includes a tour of the winery, with a stop at the viewpoint to admire the vineyard and a tasting of 3 wines with a delicious cold lunch.

And finally, the Lagarto Ocelado visit. An essential visit with which you can enjoy this natural paradise thanks to the views from the viewpoint of the Estate. The route through the winery is completed with a tasting of 3 wines, paired with Manchego cheese.

In addition, this year Finca Antigua will celebrate its twentieth anniversary, a great event that is accompanied by the total conversion of the vineyard to organic.

If these great plans are not enough, we suggest you to put the icing on the cake with a visit to Finca Montepedroso, in Rueda (Valladolid), the perfect destination to enjoy an experience that will bring you closer to the authentic verdejo that Familia Martínez Bujanda produces in this winery, which this year will blow out the candles for its tenth anniversary.

The most special visit is the vertical tasting of 3 historical vintages. This visit, unique in the region, includes a tour of the winery with a visit to the vineyard and a tapa of local sausages.

But the range of possibilities is wide since you can also request a pairing visit of 3 wines and three cheeses. In it, you will enjoy the magnificent views from the viewpoint of Finca Montepedroso, you will know the corners of the winery and you will taste 3 wines and 3 cheeses made by local dairies. This proposal can be a great option if you want to make a trip with a special person.

Finally, we suggest a picnic next to the vineyard of Finca Montepedroso. A visit that will mark a before and after in your Easter vacations.
