The first stop of this incredible route is La Rioja. In a privileged enclave, between the wine-producing towns of Cenicero and Fuenmayor, stands Finca Valpiedra, the maximum exponent of the family’s entrepreneurial spirit and a member of Grandes Pagos de España.
Opened in 1999, Finca Valpiedra is distinguished by the production of “terroir” wines. Wines that combine the winemaking tradition and the natural environment in which the vineyard is located. Unique wines that transmit all the character of this Estate of 80 hectares of vineyards divided into three natural terraces that rest on one of the meanders of the Ebro River.
Finca Valpiedra’s wine tourism proposals are special. The first, called Cantos, is the perfect combination of nature, culture, leisure and gastronomy. The windmills and farmlands of the Don Quixote Route are the preamble to what you will find at Finca Antigua, the second of the wine tourism getaways that we propose in the heart of La Mancha.
This winery, whose hallmark is an ancient key, was a “love at first sight” for Familia Martínez Bujanda, who found in this region unique vineyards at an altitude of more than 900 meters above sea level. This condition allows the family to work with national and international grape varieties to elaborate plot wines such as Clavis.
This signature wine can be tasted by booking the Premium tour. In the same Pico Garbanzo plot, Clavis is paired with a rosemary cheese, followed by a visit to the winery, a tasting pairing with 3 wines and typical local products. After the visit and on your own, enjoy a walk through the rest of the vineyard.
